Since 2003, the Bologna system has been in effect in Norwegian higher education, meaning that after completing a 3-year programme you can earn a bachelor's degree and then continue with a master's degree. The exception is medicine, law and psychology programmes, which run for 6 consecutive years. In the Norwegian system, grading runs from A (highest) to F (lowest). Education is free for European Union students at Norwegian public universities. Norway is known worldwide for its work-life balance, which is also reflected in education. Beyond the university walls, numerous student clubs and programmes await you. At some universities you can choose from hundreds of different student clubs, so you're sure to find one that matches your interests! In the cities, students can enjoy a vibrant cultural life, cafés, bars and clubs, and outside the city you can enjoy Norway's beautiful countryside.
